#2 - First day at work!
Well, the first day was great!!!
Started at 4 and finished at 8, so not too strenuous.
Was wrapping the food,
it takes 6 or 7 times to get it right
but once you get the hang of it
it's easy as pish.
Just some customers....honestly,
they're either just generally unhappy, angry, mad, upset or stupid.
I got one guy in, wanting just a bag of chips,
so Barbara (my kind of "supervisor") put them on the first wrapping,
and I said
"Salt and vinegar?"
like you do,
and he said
"Just salt please".
So I put salt on and started wrapping, and he's like
"I didn't see you put vinegar or brown sauce on"
I was thinking "WTF!"
but asked him if he'd like them,
and he was like "Well I just told you".
So he left, and Barbara was like
"What an idiot. Don't worry hen it wasn't your fault, it was his."
Then another customer came in and wanted something like 4 fritters and a bag of chips,
so Barbara served them up,
and I asked "Salt and vinegar?"
and he said "Yes please",
so I did that, wrapped them up and put them in the bag,
and he was like "did you put the brown sauce on?"
and i was like "No sorry, you didn't tell me"
so he made me unwrap everything, put brown sauce on, and wrap them back up,
and I was thinking "OMG don't you have fucking brown sauce at home?! FS"
So yeh, some customers are thick as fuck,
but remember the old saying,
"The customer is always right"
Ugh.
Aside from thick people being thick as ever,
I loved it =D
I don't suppose many people can say they love working in a chippy
but I love wrapping stuff XD
SO YEH!
That's the first and hardest shift done =D
Well chuffed.
